Tummy Tuck (Abdominoplasty)

A tummy tuck is the removal of excess skin left over from pregnancy or weight gain. With the repair of the abdominal wall to create the contour and appearance of a flatter abdominal area.  This gives you a flatter, sexier stomach.

Considerations

Tummy tucks are ideal for patients in good health with stubborn fatty tissue or loose skin that hasn’t responded well to typical exercise and diets. Older patients where the skin around the tummy has lost some of its elasticity, are also a perfect fit for the tummy tuck.

It is also a popular procedure for moms who are not planning to become pregnant again. If a patient plans to become pregnant before the procedure, we recommend waiting until pregnancy is completed, since tummy tucks will not be as effective after pregnancy.  Also if you are planning to lose significant weight, we recommend postponing the procedure until after this weight loss since skin tends to loosen after dramatic weight loss.

This procedure is not a one size fits all. As you can see from above many different types of people at different stages in their life might be considering a tummy tuck. At BLUE we take the time to get to know you, and what it means to you to look your best. We want to understand what made you consider this procedure and why it’s important to you. To learn more about becoming the confident slender you, you’ve always known you were. Schedule a Consultation.

Detailed Procedural Info

The tummy tuck procedure is about two to five hours long and does require general anesthesia. As mentioned above, this procedure is specific to each individual patient. Some will be an out-patient surgery and others will require inpatient surgery. The procedure does leave two scars. One scar is across the patient’s lower abdomen and another around the belly button. These scars do fade with time, and after the procedure you’ll have a well-defined stomach and the body you’ve been dreaming of.
